The Georgia War Veterans Home is in Milledgeville, Georgia and works with the Georgia Department of Veterans Services to house and assist veterans needing basic and acute medical, and psychological care. The campus required new infrastructure, updates, and renovations for five buildings on their campus.

Overcoming Challenges
We stayed in communication with the facility directors about where and when construction activities would take place. Clear communication from the owner regarding the changing level of COVID-19 protocols that were required was also key. Finally, communicating and monitoring these with the subcontractors allowed the team to overcome these challenges.
JLJ’s communication with the facility management about the current work status and upcoming work was one of the most important solutions. In addition to these daily conversations, we implemented a Method of Procedure document outlining and detailing specific work activities to better communicate construction timelines and the detailed steps required to complete the work.
