A Look at the History of JLJ & Associates
JLJ & Associates may have become official in April 1983, but the seeds of this company were planted nearly four decades before that in 1946. Jerry L. Johnson provided carpentry services to Barge Thompson as he worked on the vertical addition to the 51 Ivy Street Building in Atlanta. Mr. Johnson climbed the ladder – both figuratively and literally – within the company, being promoted to General Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager, Vice President of the Commercial Building division, and finally to Senior Vice President.
With his extensive knowledge and expertise, he knew it was time to open his own company. With excitement for the future, Jerry L. Johnson & Associates was born on April 21, 1983.
