About the Tournament’s Namesake
The Charles W. Cobb, Sr. Annual Memorial Golf Tournament was founded in 2012 and is hosted by Jerry L. Johnson & Associates, Inc. where Charles W. Cobb, Sr. served as company president for 21 years.
Charles W. Cobb, Sr. endeared himself to many through his generous nature, strong work ethic, and his caring lifestyle. He was a loving husband, father of three, and a dedicated veteran. A recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, Cobb served in the United States Army from 1966-1969 as Squad Commander for the 173rd Airborne Brigade during the Vietnam War.
Charles was a tough man with a generous heart. A natural born leader that loved his country, Charles spread his love throughout his community by donating to local charities. Charles had a great love for the game of golf and was a fierce competitor. It is through this Memorial Tournament that we continue his legacy of generosity.
