The Eighth Annual Charles W Cobb, Sr. Memorial Golf Tournament hosted by Jerry L. Johnson & Associates, Inc was Friday, October 25, 2019, held at Heron Bay Golf Course in Locust Grove, GA.
100% of proceeds from our tournament went towards Rainbow House, Inc. helping them provide services to shelter, champion, and heal abused, neglected, exploited and abandoned children.
Charles W. Cobb, Sr. Annual Memorial Golf Tournament was founded in 2012 and is hosted by Jerry L. Johnson & Associates, Inc. where Charles W. Cobb, Sr. served as company president for 21 years.
Charles W. Cobb, Sr. endeared himself to many through his generous nature, strong work ethic, and his caring lifestyle. He was a loving husband, father of three, and a dedicated veteran. A recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, Cobb served in the United States Army from 1966-1969 as Squad Commander for the 173rd Airborne Brigade during the Vietnam War.
Charles was a tough man with a generous heart. A natural born leader that loved his country, Charles spread his love throughout his community by donating to local charities. Charles had a great love for the game of golf and was a fierce competitor. It is through this Memorial Tournament that we continue his legacy of generosity.
Rainbow House, Inc. is a private, non-profit corporation, operating Rainbow House Emergency Shelter for Children and Rainbow Connection Child Advocacy and Assessment Center (CAAC) with a mission is to provide services to shelter, champion, and heal abused, neglected, exploited, and abandoned children.
Since 1988, Rainbow House, Inc. has helped 2,500 children between the ages of 3-17, by providing a SafePlace for up to 22 residents at a time, to reduce the trauma experienced by child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members. They do this by providing a central, child-friendly environment in which they can receive all needed services by facilitating a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team approach to the investigation and prosecution of allegations and child abuse.
The Rainbow House Emergency Shelter for Children provides a SafePlace for children when the Family Court finds a child to be deprived. Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is given temporary custody and placed with agencies like Rainbow House to provide shelter, clothing, food, educational support, and life skills training.
The Rainbow Connection Child Advocacy and Assessment Center (CAAC) was chartered with the mission to reduce the trauma experienced by child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members.
